Holy Snow Balls

December 9, 2008

So today I took a personal day from work due to the snow we’re currently getting.  Quite the snow fall!  I’m no longer worried that we’ll have a brown Christmas.  Not much of a chance for that now!

The storm started yesterday afternoon with freezing rain, sleet, and a general wintry mix.  Last night it started snowing pretty good.  It snowed all night and is still snowing.  It’s finally lightening up, but we are supposed to get a good 6-11 inches by the time all is said and done.  YAY!

What a Snow Ho…

December 4, 2008

So for the second year in a row, between Thanksgiving and the first week of December we get our first round of snowfalls.  So far the Madison area has received roughly 3-5 inches.  Isn’t it great?!

If you live in Madison (or anywhere in an area with snow already), you’re probably thinking I must be some weirdo lunatic who loves snow and totally is clueless to the inconveniences it brings to our lives.

Well, you’re right.

Aside from the fact that it sucks to drive in, sucks to shovel, and increases your risk of breaking bones, I love snow.  Only around the Christmas season though.  I can’t have Christmas without snow!  After New Year’s the snow can burn in a warmish hell, but until then, Let It Snow!

Decked My Halls. Have You?

So believe it or not, my tree is up!  My village is up!  My stockings are hung by the chimney (entertainment center) with care!  That’s right, yours truly has mostly finished his Christmas decorating and is now enjoying the 24/7 Christmas music on a local radio station.  Never too soon to start!  :)

I enjoy the season because of the season, not because of the advertising, commercialism, and all the crap that humans have saturated the season with.  Going back to when I was a kid, that was when Christmas was the most special.  So the reason for my insane celebration traditions is because I actually enjoy all the things that go SHOULD go with the season.  Give it a try, you might feel a little differently about the season too.

The Name of this Blog is Now Available in Stores

By that title I mean EGG NOG IS NOW OUT IN THE WILD!!!  At least at the Wal-Mart my parents shop at (thanks for the tip Pam).  Now I will be doing some investigative work later this weekend to prove that it exists at our local retailers here as well.

I’ve noticed that a lot of people don’t like egg nog.  I, for one, feel very bad for these people.  They must have had bad childhoods. :)  But for those of you who are willing to join my yummy, creamy, eggy cult: WELCOME, DRINK, AND BE MERRY!

Welcome Ho’s

October 10, 2008

(Season’s) Greetings!  For those of you who are joining me here from Jabloggy, yes I will bring some of my usual writing styles to this blog as well.  For newcomers, I can be all over the place, but let it be known that it’s all in good clean fun and humor and that I am very much a Christmas nut.  Is it really that sad that a grown man can still enjoy the season this much?  I personally think not, and what you think doesn’t matter to me.  But if you think it’s wrong, then I dub you a scrooge and forbid you from reading this blog any further!

Well, gotta run for now.  But I hope you come to enjoy this blog as much as you might enjoy Jabloggy.  Thanks!
